LAPDO has been working on good governance, democracy and human rights issues respectively and has succeeded in participating in monitoring elections in Ekiti and Ondo State in collaboration with Action Aid, TMG, and Swift-Count. LAPDO has been involved in election programming for over a period of 5 years and has consistently advocated for the erection of structures and formulation of policy that will enhance the democratic processes and provide opportunity for the masses to become a part of contributing significantly to the theory of change in the country. In the last 5 years, LAPDO has been able to reach conducted advocacies and collaborated in advocacies across LGAs with the facilitation of stakeholders’ partnership/collaboration on the creation of conducive environment for political activities and electioneering; while increasing awareness/consciousness of the general population through voter’s education, civic orientation, mandate protection and mobilization for continuous voters’ registration.
Efforts and pockets of interventions on human right and good governance have been helping to mobilize and advocate more women participation and people living with disabilities in political activities and elective positions in elections.
